GT Sharpening Jig for Bowl gouges & Spindle Gouges

This sharpening jig is made from high strength grade of aluminium. Drilled out to accept up to a 5/8" / 16mm tool shank. The leg if the tool is made from 10mm round Bright Steel. It is fitted with an M8 screw knob for securing the tool in place whilst being sharpened. The knob has a star shape to aid with gripping when tightening. 

I have made this jig to my measurements that I use to achieve the bevels I use on my tools. There is a YouTube video, which gives clear measurements and instructions on how to make the adjustable arm for holding the jig. https://youtu.be/B2OUYIc_SnI. Measurements can clearly be seen in the pictures above. The slot for the sharpening jig needs to be 6 inches from the centre of the wheel. The height from the adjustable arm to the centre of the wheel is 5 inches. When used with the protrusions as per the pictures above, 50mm protrusion from the tip of the tool to the front of the jig gives you a 50 degree bevel. 67mm protrusion from the tip of the tool to the front of the jig gives you a 45 degree bevel. These measurements are to achieve the bevels I use. 

You are purchasing the jig only. The adjustable arm, you need to make yourself and fit to your own grinder. This does NOT come with the jig.
